How this review was made: We did not test this watch in person. Skip it: better-liked fitness watches do more with less lag

Experts agree on what the Ignite 3 does well: a bright AMOLED screen, a slim light body, and reliable core tracking with dual-band GPS. They also agree on the problems: sluggish software, a single awkward button, basic notifications, no music storage or contactless payments, and a premium price for a device that Tech Advisor, T3 and Expert Reviews all say is not worth that much. Consumer Reports ranks it near the bottom of the smartwatches it tested and calls it not all that smart. Owners on Amazon rate it well, so this is a value-and-polish skip, not a safety problem.

What reviewers like

It looks great.Reviewers call the screen bright and crisp, and the body thin and light enough to wear all day.
Core tracking is mostly reliable.T3 found sleep, workout, heart rate and step tracking reliable, and Wareable and Expert Reviews found distance and pace from the dual-band GPS held up well in testing.
Good training analysis. The Polar Flow app gives detailed fitness and sleep data, and Consumer Reports describes the watch as easy to set up and simple to use day to day.

What reviewers criticise

Sluggish software.Tech Advisor, Wareable, T3 and Expert Reviews each report lag, slow button response or unresponsive raise-to-wake. Wareable's headline verdict was that laggy software overshadows its strengths.
Not very smart.Consumer Reports calls it not all that smart. Tech Advisor and T3 say notifications are basic and the watch is closer to a fitness band than a smartwatch.
Accuracy is uneven.Expert Reviews measured heart rate averaging nearly 9 percent off a chest strap, Wareable saw some strangely high readings, and Tech Advisor saw GPS routes cut corners. Consumer Reports says it is less accurate than most other tested wearables. Other reviewers found accuracy good, so results vary.
Value.Tech Advisor says better options exist for the money, Expert Reviews recommends a Garmin instead, and T3 calls it pricey for its feature set.

How it holds up over time

We found no long-term durability study. Wareable reported a long scratch on the screen during its testing, which is a single report, not a pattern. Treat durability as unproven.

What evidence is missing

We did not find a recall, regulator action or pattern of safety complaints. Consumer Reports' overall score is not visible without a membership. Amazon owner ratings are positive, so some buyers are happy with it. Our skip is based on expert findings about lag, features and value.
